Work-less

Hello unemployment, my old friend. It's the second bout, post my Writers' Week contract and I feel like I'm better prepared this time round. I have a better idea of how to spend my days - to get stuck into exercise when I feel like it, rather than doing it at a particular time (a surprise for me to learn that when usually I prefer getting less enjoyable stuff over and done with early in the day). I am less stressed about the job hunting process, I know to check every couple of days rather than every day, and to widen my search.

I am using this time to walk my dog more, try to exercise more often, balance writing time with wedding planning (laughable since in the three weeks I've not had a job, this is the first day I've sat down to write and actually done so successfully), and not get caught up watching Youtube for hours on end.

I have caught up with friends but not felt guilty for it. I have cleaned the house. I have listened to the Moana soundtrack more times than I care to admit. I am halfway through re-sorting my wardrobe. I feel like I am going to be okay.

Happy Friday.
